One panel on this monteith features fragments of buildings. Arcades stretch at acute angles connected to nothing and arches hang unsupported. Whether seen as ruins or fantasy, these architectural absurdities have the same spirit of invention as the Chinoiserie scenes flat-chased in the other panels.
