Editorial Statement

Ceramics in America is an interdisciplinary journal intended for collectors, historical archaeologists, curators, decorative arts students, social historians, and studio potters. We seek articles on the broad role of historical ceramics in the American context, including essays on ceramic history, archaeological research, technology, social history, studio pottery, and collecting. Further information about this process can be found at the Chipstone Foundation’s website, www.chipstone.org. Authors are encouraged to contact the editor before submitting materials.

The Chipstone Foundation offers significant honoraria for full-length manuscripts accepted for publication, and reimburses authors for photography that is approved in writing by the editor.

If an article is accepted for publication, the author should submit photocopies of the title page and copyright page for all cited published sources. Authors are encouraged to provide digital files for all images, along with permissions to reprint. Low-resolution digital images or photographs of poor quality will not be accepted for publication.

Questions and comments from readers and authors are welcome.
