Lynchburg, Virginia, 1814-1825
Mahogany with white pine
Catalog no. 173

The most prolific clock manufacturer in the bustling western Virginia market center of Lynchburg was the partnership of Jehu Williams and John Victor, who worked together for nearly thirty years before Victor's death in 1845. Their clock movements and the wooden cases in which they are housed are overwhelmingly British in character, a pattern that probably reflects the Fredericksburg, Virginia, origin of both artisans.
