At the Glenn Gould prize award ceremony, Peteran presented Musical Box to a packed auditorium. A protégé of the winner (who was too ill to attend) accepted the prize, spent about forty seconds examining its inner workings, and then performed a piece of music composed on the spot. For Peteran, this first and only public performance completed the work.
